About Vel Tech High Tech

Vel Tech High Tech Dr. Rangarajan Dr. Sakunthala Engineering College, an autonomous institution established in 2002 under the R.S. Trust, was founded by the visionary philanthropic couple Col. Prof. Vel. Shri. Dr. R. Rangarajan and Dr.Sakunthala Rangarajan. Approved by AICTE and affiliated with Anna University, the college offers nine undergraduate and two postgraduate programs. Known for its academic excellence, industry-oriented training, and strong placement support. The institution promotes innovation, research and holistic development with modern infrastructure, experienced faculty and active industry collaborations, it continues to produce skilled, ethical, and globally competent professionals ready to meet the challenges of tomorrow.

About the Department

Established in 2009, the Department of Mechanical Engineering provides a strong academic environment for its 60 students. Permanently affiliated with Anna University, Chennai, The department features modern laboratories and well-structured infrastructure. Faculty members have published numerous research papers in reputed journals, earning significant citations and maintaining a strong h-index of 18. The department, recognized as a Research Centre by Anna University, has also completed several funded projects and offers opportunities for advanced research and Ph.D studies.

About MechForge ’25

MechForge ’25 is a two-day, national-level symposium hosted by the Department of Mechanical Engineering at Vel Tech High Tech. Guided by the theme “Forging the Future of Engineering”, the event serves as a vibrant meeting ground for students, researchers, and industry professionals.Over these two days, participants will share their ideas, present cutting-edge innovations, and take part in a range of technical competitions and cultural activities. More than just a symposium, MechForge ’25 is a celebration of engineering talent — a place where learning meets creativity, collaboration sparks new possibilities, and the seeds are sown for the engineering leaders of tomorrow.

About Design Thinking Club

The Design Thinking Club at Vel Tech High Tech is a vibrant space where creativity meets problem-solving. Rooted in the principles of design thinking, it empowers students to address real-world challenges through ideation, prototyping, and collaboration. Through engaging workshops, competitions, and projects, the club nurtures critical thinking, fosters interdisciplinary teamwork, and inspires students to innovate with purpose while striving for engineering excellence.
